Clinicalconversationthatcrosseslanguage,modality,andtime.

A platform layer that translates live, suggests responses to clinicians, and remembers how a patient prefers to be spoken to. It powers Dr. Kai on a wearable and MyVoice sign interpretation and multilingual messaging. Every output passes the THIA safety gate before a clinician or a patient sees it.

Conversational intelligence layer

What the layer does

The Conversational Intelligence layer is the engine that makes a conversation continuous across language, modality, and time. A patient speaks Samoan into a clinician's wearable. The clinician hears English. The system interprets, suggests a follow-up question, and keeps a longitudinal memory of how that patient asks about pain, fatigue, or fear.

The layer is not the surface. The surface is Dr. Kai or MyVoice. The layer is what those surfaces run on.

  • Real-time clinical translationSpeech in, speech and text out. Tuned for the vocabulary clinicians use, not generic chat.
  • Response assistanceSuggested next questions and clinically appropriate phrasing for the clinician. The clinician picks. The platform does not speak for them.
  • Adaptive patient memoryHow a patient prefers to be spoken to is learned over time and respected on the next visit.
  • Ambient and wearable supportRuns on smart glasses, headsets, mobile, and desktop. The clinician is not stuck behind a screen.

How it fits the stack

The layer sits between the MIM family and the clinical surfaces. The MIM reasons about the patient. The layer carries that reasoning into a conversation a patient can actually hold. Every step is logged through THIA. The audit trail captures the original utterance, the translation, the suggested response, the clinician's choice, and the final output.

Where it lights up today

Two Hydor surfaces use the layer directly.

  • Dr. Kai on a wearableIn-room and field consultations through a clinician's smart glasses or headset. The conversation lives alongside the chart.
  • MyVoiceSign-language interpretation, spoken-language translation, and multilingual clinical messaging share one substrate inside Dr. Kai.

What the layer is not

The layer is not a consumer translation app. It is not a travel copilot. It is not a $20-a-month subscription for tourists or students. The capability exists inside Hydor for governed clinical settings. A consumer version of the same idea is a separate company question, kept off Hydor's brand.

THIA governance applies to every output

Every utterance the layer translates or suggests passes through TruthChecker and AutoRAG before it reaches a clinician or a patient. The reasoning lineage is captured. The Clinical Oversight Panel reviews layer performance on the same quarterly cadence as the MIMs. Adaptive memory respects data residency. A patient's communication history does not leave the Sovereign Health Node.
